Last Twin Creeks Tournie

Went 2-0 today. The second game started off pretty bad with us allowing 6 runs with errors and walks. Came back to win 8-6. The coach to the second team was interesting. So not motivating the players, insulting them at every chance, constantly yelling. He would tell them to shut up, threaten them if they did not make the play he would take them out. He was so loud. We think the heat got to him because we did not see him after awhile. Later, I was told that he went out of the dugout and was yelling. Boy, this is one of the reasons why I keep my son with TB, none of that. They have great coaches, although our coach did get on the boys during that not so good 1st inning but it was well deserved. Still he did it in a professional manner, not insulting like the other teams coach. We also noticed none of their fans were even close to the team... hmm I wonder why.

He, the coach to the other team, kept us parents entertained that is for sure. He yelled at a base runner on first to steal, he would say, "it's no secret that you are going to steal, so get on 2nd". The player never stole 2nd. Poor kids, I give it to them for putting up with him because I know I could not. Glad we took the lead and the W.

We are in 3rd seed, allowed too many runs that second game. We really should have been second seed but it's all good. We just need to win one game to get to the championship game. It would be nice to get there again. If we make it to the championship game, it would make it our 3rd time with 5 tournaments.

Next, San Diego!

WE WON! 8 Run Ruled them! Way to head into San Diego!

The Start

I will probably use this more to track the experiences and memories of our trip to San Diego for a week long tournament. Last year, it was a blast and had some crazy experiences that would have been fun to track. So this is what I am going to use this for starting with this weekends tournament.

It's a 16U baseball team with boys with the play age of 14 -15. Our 16 year old players are even considered 15 in the wonderful world of travel ball.

We just have this weekend left, then the week in San Diego and it's over for the summer. The summer has gone way too fast.

Looking forward to more baseball. I have never missed any of my son's baseball games, I love watching him and his team play.

Last weekend, unfortunately my son did not make this play but it was a great attempt. He will learn from his mistakes and move on. So proud of him for attempting the diving catch, you will never learn if you do not attempt. The below picture was taken by one of the dad's from our team.

Picture taken by one of the other dad's of my son's double.

The team came in second overall after 5 games of baseball in two days! Gotta love it!

People do not always understand why I give up so much of my time for my son. Why wouldn't I? It is all about him, I will have time for myself when he goes off to college. The thing is ~ is that I totally love it. A lot of parents do it, not sure why people give me such a bad time about it. I enjoy having him take lessons for him to get better, for him to play on the TB travel team and get college exposure. It's all just a great experience and is building life long friends and memories for the both of us. We have met some great people the last couple of years doing travel ball.

Let's go TB16U White.
